"More Eel Fishing on the Avon" - One Barbel 9lb 9oz - August 20th 2010

At least 2 foot up since Monday, absolutely full of weed and a good flow, all the weed that has acumulated over the last few months was getting ripped out by the fast water and wrapped around my feeder. Switched to a lead, which helped, the fish came at about 9:15pm

Low and clear at least 3ft visibility. The fish came out at 8 pm. Loads of knocks before and after the fish, but only the one proper bite.

Seven from the Severn - August 8th 2010 - 30lb 10oz

This is the second time I've got the Barb point. I went planning to catch Dace and Bleak, could only get Minnows, Gudgeon and tiny Chub on float fished maggot. So I thought I'll have a bash for the Barbel... glad I did.. 7 fish between 6:00pm till 7:30pm. Busy! Tried to fish for Dace and Bleak after, no joy, lost a good chub though.

Stockton Carp - 86lb 2oz - 23rd June 2010

Started fishing out by the island, had just one fish in about 3 hours on a zig. Baited up 2 margin spots, one to the left and one to the right. Caught the rest on standard bottom fished boilies.

Crucians and Browns - Laneys Lagoon 22nd June 2010

4lb 9oz of Crucians - 9lb 10oz of Fan Tails

Pic shows 6 of each for species comparison. To me they seem clearly different, the Crucians are peas in a pod, the Fan Tails vary fin length quite a bit. Fun session on float. Hot day.

Snitterfield Bream May 19th 2010 - 19lb 11oz

The plan was to catch Crucians on worm. Well that didn't go to plan. But catching these Bream half a rod out on float was great. Also caught quite a few roach and hybrids.
